Action Against Hunger is helping refugees from Sudan now living in Chad by supplying clean water, access to sanitation facilities, and essential supplies.
Families from across Sudan are desperately trying to avoid violence and find safety, and all are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, including food, water, health services, and shelter.
According to a new report from Action Against Hunger, fewer than 30% of appeals for humanitarian support for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) related programs were met in 2022, leaving an average funding gap of 70.3%.
Below-normal rains between March and May could further stress limited food and water supplies as, across the Horn of Africa, an estimated 46 million people — more than the population of California — urgently need food assistance.
